Introduction

Mr. Kim is a lawyer who has focused his practice mainly on antitrust and international business transaction since he joined HMP Law. Mr. Kim is advising and representing a number of international and domestic clients, and has extensive experience in various antitrust and fair trade issues including abuse of dominance, merger filing, cartel, unfair aid, unfair trading practices. Mr. Kim is also engaged in a variety of contractual and commercial matters (including joint venture, franchising, licensing, agency, distribution, outsourcing, e-commerce, logistics, etc.), and dispute resolution matters arising therefrom.

  • Advised a leading multinational pharmaceutical company on the implementation of a conditional rebate program in Korea.

  • Advised a leading multinational eyewear manufacturer on the implementation of a selective distribution system in Korea.

  • Advised a leading multinational glass manufacturer on cartel regulations in Korea and conducted a competition law audit (including forensic work) of its Korean subsidiary.

  • Represented a leading multinational LCD manufacturer (as defendant) in legal proceedings for compensation of damages due to alleged international cartel.

  • Represented a leading multinational LED manufacturer in the KFTC’s investigation into alleged unfair trading practices and in legal proceedings for compensation of damages.

  • Represented the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) in various legal proceedings and other legal matters.

  • Represented a British defense company in negotiating procurement contracts and offset trades with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

  • Represented a German logistics company in negotiating construction and service contracts with an online platform company in Korea.

  • Represented an Italian trading company in negotiating export contracts for strategic items with a Korean company and advised on export control regulations in Korea.

  • Represented an Italian fashion company in the filing of a complaint in relation to an incorrect mark of origin and advised on parallel import regulations in Korea.
